Buffalo Wild Wings Introduces Menu Innovation for the Indecisive
Buffalo Wild Wings, long celebrated for its bold flavors and high TV-per-square-foot ratio, announced today its latest menu offering: the "Mix 'n Match Boneless and Bone-In Wings Combo." Arriving nationwide next week, the new dish features wings that are visually identical but, internally, quite different.
The concept is deceptively simple. Each wing is a study in culinary disguise – crispy, golden, and impossible to tell apart. Some are boneless, offering a seamless, bone-free chewing experience. Others contain bones, delivering the time-honored ritual of strategic gnawing. The twist? There’s no way to tell which is which until you take a bite.
“Our research showed that 74% of customers spend an average of 8.3 minutes deciding between traditional and boneless wings,” said Marketing Director Chick Wingo. “This innovation eliminates choice paralysis entirely. No more debates at the table – just pure, unfiltered wing roulette.”
Each order comes with a standardized number of wings, though the ratio of bone-in to boneless pieces varies randomly by batch. “This is really about giving our customers more than just a meal,” said Wingo. “It’s an experience. An opportunity to reflect on the unexpected turns life takes – sometimes soft and tender, sometimes reinforced with calcium.”
Early trial locations report a significant increase in engagement levels, with customers spending an average of 27 minutes longer at their tables. And beverage sales have notably increased over 14%, proving that this concept is both delicious and a real revenue driver.
Buffalo Wild Wings is already developing more concepts to expand its menu. "This is just the beginning," Wingo said. "We're reimagining the entire game-time dining experience and going beyond food with new companion products like ‘Wing Insurance’ for diners who ‘bite wrong.’"
