Elsa Goes West
Climate scientists have determined that the recent record high snowfalls in Southern California and record low snowfalls in New York City can be entirely attributed to Elsa, the magical Disney princess from the movie "Frozen."
She relocated from the Upper West Side to Santa Monica last fall and it has had a profound effect on the weather patterns in the region, according to meteorologist Dr. Lisa Chen. "Elsa's presence in the region has been a significant factor in the snowfall patterns we're seeing," Dr. Chen explained. "Her magical abilities create a unique climate that can't be explained by conventional meteorology."
However, not everyone is thrilled about Elsa's influence on the climate. Some residents of Santa Monica are complaining about the snow and ice, which they say are ruining the sunny beach town. "I moved to Southern California to escape the snow and cold weather, and now it's following me here," said local resident Steve Johnson. "I can't even go to the beach without slipping on ice."
Despite the complaints, Elsa seems to be having a great time in Santa Monica. Witnesses have reported seeing the princess building ice castles by the pier and bringing snowmen to life on the beach. And, in at least several instances so far, when Elsa overheard the locals’ objections, she immediately burst into song, belting out her signature tune "Let It Go" at the top of her lungs. Apparently, she has no plans to return east anytime soon.
